10 Bible Verses for Encouragement

Small group leaders need to be ready with Bible verses for encouragement.

All of us will go through difficult seasons in life. For some of our small group members, those seasons can seem endless and harsh.

We can’t and shouldn’t try to fix every obstacle that comes the way of our members. But we are called to encourage each other (1 Thessalonians 5:11).

What Is Encouragement?

What does it mean to encourage someone? Here is the definition of encourage: “to inspire with courage, spirit, or confidence”

There is no better way to inspire your members than through Bible verses for encouragement.

These are 10 of my favorite Bible verses that you can use to help encourage someone today:

Bible Verses for Encouragement

be strong and courageous

Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or scared of them; for the Lord your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:6

I will give you rest

Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28

I can do all things through Christ

I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.”

Philippians 4:13

trust in the lord and he will direct your paths
