Sharing God’s Simple Plan of Salvation

Small group is a place where people feel safe learning about God and exploring how to be more like Jesus.

But these groups are not limited to Christians. People who are seeking can be among the members as well.

What better place to learn than in a healthy small group? I have participated in more than one small group where a member was unsaved and felt comfortable enough to admit it. I also watched them become followers of Jesus. But some may not be so honest and will try to fake it.

Sharing God’s Simple Plan of Salvation

Many people need to hear our personal stories and understand God’s simple plan of salvation. Do your group members know the plan of salvation and how your life changed since you became a Christian? Do they know how to share their story and God’s plan with others?

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts; and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear”

1 Peter 3:15

Consider discussing the simple plan of salvation from time-to-time in your small group. There are many ways to communicate God’s plan. Your personal experience of transformation is powerful. Find and use ways that are most comfortable for you and your members.

2 Ways to Share the Simple Plan of Salvation

The following are a couple of simple methods you and your group members can use with a personal story:

The Romans Road

This method describes the plan through a handful of verses from the book of Romans.

The Bridge Illustration

I like the effectiveness of illustrating while walking through the plan. You can use the verses from above with a diagram or only one verse (Romans 6:23) as this video demonstrates.
